SAP Focuses on AI with its S/4 HANA Cloud

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the aspects that continue to exert significant influence on the growth and objectives of most companies today, particularly those in the technology space.

The cutting-edge technology is being utilized in the creation of products and services in a bid to leverage its capabilities. Recently, a press release revealed that SAP’s newest release of S/4 HANA Cloud included additional artificial intelligence capabilities that are intended for various industries including the professional services and manufacturing industries.

HANA entails High-performance Analytics Appliance, which is a database system intended for automating processes in a bid to assists enterprises in running more efficiently.

Since entering the software market back in 2010, the enterprise software giant, SAP, has launched multiple versions of HANA. Nonetheless, the newest version is meant for professional services and manufacturing.

SAP, an enterprise software provider has appeared to be boosting its vertical artificial intelligence (AI) efforts. In fact, the 1805 launch of S/4 HANA earlier this year, which comprised repackaged workflows or 12 AI-driven scenarios to take over manual functions well-demonstrates this situation.

The scenarios were focused on automating various industries including supply chain, contracts, procurement, conversion, finance, and sales forecasting.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud‘s 1808 release is delivering additional AI-powered scenarios to the enterprise, nine more to be exact. The special focus for these scenarios is the professional services and manufacturing industries.

According to the press release, the updated SAPA S/4 HANA Cloud completes enterprise goals with the lowest resource costs and inventory possible. The following are some of the included features in the SAP S/4 HANA 1808 as stated by the press release:

  • Support two-tier ERP and automate intercompany processes.
  • Utilize deep insight to comprehend and track KPI performance.
  • Automate chemical compliance processes in a bid to minimize costs and accelerate speed to market.
  • Adjust the levels of buffer appropriately in an attempt of meeting the average daily usage.
  • Easily manage inventory positioning and see buffers to streamline the analysis for restructuring decoupling points.
  • Visually identify load capacity and adjust it as required to prevent any bottleneck situations.

Back in June, enterprise software giant SAP rolled out C/4 HANA, the company’s effort not only to reinvent CRM but also to compete with Salesforce more effectively.

A considerable portion of the C/4 Hana plan is to utilize the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and S/4 HANA to offer distinctive enterprise features. Aside from that, SAP is also said to be shifting more of its installed base to the S/4 HANA Cloud.

Based on reports from SAP, the S/4 HANA 1808 release has the needed artificial intelligence (AI) to assess and adjust capacity, support subsidiaries, analyze quality, market, buffer adjustments, and manage inventory.

Looking at SAP’s updates of the S/4 HANA Cloud, it appears that most of them are primarily focused on the manufacturing sector, which is a fundamental industry for the enterprise software company.

Some of the professional services artificial intelligence(AI ) updates for S/4 HANA Cloud comprise of cap in time and expense billing, consultant timesheet entries and staffing analysis.
