5 Examples of AI in the Workplace Now

Many businesses are turning to artificial intelligence (AI) to help improve practices, increase revenue, and save time.

One area of AI that seems to be gaining quite a lot of interest currently is Narrow AI.

This is where “machine learning (ML) solutions that target a specific task (such as understanding the language or driving a vehicle in a controlled environment) with algorithms chosen that are optimized for that task,” says David Cearley, vice president and Gartner Fellow.

1. Deloitte

Just last year the business consultancy firm teamed up with Kira Systems to develop machine learning technology that could scan through thousands of complex documents and extract any relevant information to be used for analysis.

The system uses AI techniques such as natural language processing and machine learning in which to pick up key points and things like terms and conditions from these documents, saving the company a whole lot of time and money.

2. Niles

This is an add-on for the Slack platform. It records conversations so that whenever someone sends a message the system learns.

Niles is able to listen to customers and use AI to answer their questions. Usually, this will be things like, “How much is this item? or Who’s in charge?” The more you ask, the more Niles learns.

3. AISense

This AI startup has developed technology that records voice conversations and makes them searchable via its Ambient Voice Intelligence.

The company is also in the process of developing software that uses a smartphone app to incorporate call recording. It uses AI to record and transcribe calls for users to search through as they wish.

4. SAP CoPilot

You’ve probably already come across various virtual assistants and chatbots. Well, SAP CoPilot is very similar to these in that it’s a digital assistant that’s designed to assist with tasks such as purchasing contracts and working in collaboration with colleagues.

The company’s aim is to amalgamate all the different work apps a person uses into one AI virtual assistant where users can ask questions and give instructions.

5. WalkMe

This is a digital adoption platform (DAP) that uses Athenahealth to help those in healthcare professionals receive training and guidance as to how to use a particular system.

Integrated with Salesforce, it provides personalized tips as to how to create better sales opportunities via the CRM system.
