It all happens in Silicon Valley. At least that’s how it seems with everything to do with artificial intelligence (AI). Liulishuo, otherwise known as LingoChamp, is the world’s largest educator when it comes to AI, so for it to announce that a new AI lab is opening in Silicon Valley is exciting news.
Dr Yang Liu has been employed to run the lab. She draws her experience from being a former research scientist at Facebook, a Visiting Scientist at Google, as well as a professor at the University of Texas and is an expert in both AI and NLP (Natural Language Processing).
Dr Yang Liu has also published more than 140 different research papers covering the field of Natural Language Processing and Speech Processing, so is more than qualified to do the job in hand.

Since the AI startup was founded back in 2012, it’s attracted various talented AI engineers to it and is now considered to be the world’s leading AI+ Education company. It’s even developed the world’s first AI English Teacher which uses deep learning techniques to provide a personalized learning experience for each user.
According to information released from ETS, the AI is three times as effective at teaching compared to that of a human when using CFER (Common European Framework of Reference for Language).
So far the startup’s mobile app has more than 50 million registered users, with more than 600,000 paying for services. It’s now accessed in 379 different cities across 175 counties around the globe.
The company’s most recent funding round was led by CMC Capital Partners and Wu Capital. Other investors of the startup include Cherubi Ventures, Hearst Ventures, IDG Capital, Trustbridge Partners, and GGV Capital.
