5 AI Startups to Look Out for in the Healthcare Industry

The healthcare industry is booming right now with artificial intelligence (AI) startups and applications, particularly when it comes to personalized medicine. The following are 5 AI startups that are dedicated to this area and are already making quite a stir among the industry:

1.

iCarbonX – This Chinese AI startup was founded back in 2015. It’s responsible for a seven company Digital Life Alliance that comes together to share data. The companies in the alliance are: SomaLogic, GALT, HealthTell, Imagu, PatientsLikeMe, Robustnique, and AOBiome. Each one is responsible for collecting a different type of data. This data will then be fed to algorithms that can track people’s health and make accurate personalized health recommendations.

2.

Arivale – This AI startup was founded in 2014 and is based in Seattle. Big data lies at the heart of this business and since it began has raised more than $50 million in funding. This company uses blood tests and genetics in which to build a dashboard health profile. From here users can manage their diet as well as getting helpful information relating to their heart rate, or weight. The $999 plan also comes with 60 days free nutrition coaching.

3.

Viome – Targeting the microbiome as a way to achieve personalized treatments, Viome is a California-based startup, founded back in 2016. In that short amount of time the company has already raised a considerable amount of funding. The company aims to use AI to analyze a person’s microbiome to help them stay healthier. It too charges $999 for its at-home testing kit and after care services.

4.

Vitagene – San-Francisco based startup Vitagene, is a major contender when it comes to gene sequencing. For just $79 users can get a DNA health test that includes an ancestry report as part of the deal. Running the person’s DNA through the company’s AI platform, the software maps out a recommended diet, exercise, and supplement plan based on the person’s results.

5.

Suggestic – Another San-Francisco based startup, Suggestic takes a different stance of promoting personalized health through what it calls precision eating. The company’s app-based platform takes users normal preferences and the AI computes recommendations for change based on the input. One really neat feature about the app is that it uses augmented reality to scan around 500,000 menus from eating establishments across the United States to highlight what’s Ok to eat.
